Emerging artists who approach Obsessive Music initially meet with Kim Lajoie. Kim usually manages the project and determines the best way to help and oversees the artist's development during the period of working with Obsessive Music. Kim’s highly structured and disciplined approach allows artists to advance their careers with confidence and determination. Kim takes care of the details so his artists can focus on their creative expression.

Kim is a great person to work with because he gives artists the freedom to express their creative vision while trying to preserve what they expect in the finished product. He has a good knowledge of music, is friendly and approachable, and has a systematic approach that is professional and consistent. If you are new to the game who wants to get something out there, whether it's for a demo or an EP or something that you want to express that defines you as an artist, this is an excellent starting point.
- Katie Lewis, Sister Freak
Kim works mind-boggling hard, bafflingly fast, and always seems to get the results he wants, music full of texture and grit, working across a lot of different genres and not afraid to try different things. It was an edifying experience and a tricky collaboration that really challenged my boundaries making me dig deeper, and think about lyrics and music in ways I never would have otherwise.
- Randall Stephens, Punch Card Poet
Kim helped provide valuable insight during the production of our recent song. He was able to quickly pinpoint some opportunities for improvement and suggest what needed to be done to get it to the next step. The song that resulted was definitely a notch up from where it would have been without his guidance. We will definitely include him in the process when we go back for our next recording.
- John Willoughby, Jake and the Java Cats
I found it very valuable to have an experienced set of ears (and an impartial opinion) provide advice on my composition and production techniques. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone wanting a (professional) outsiders opinion on their craft.
- Rohan Lloyd
As a solo recording artist, it's very difficult to get perspective on your work as you labor alone in your little studio. Frankly, it starts to drive one mad. Thank god for Kim -- voice of reason, 2nd set of ears, and sane little voice to point you in the right direction.
- Shane Sparks
I have enjoyed working on the Crash Honey project during 2010-2011. Having worked on Obsession in 2009 I was aware of Kim's work ethic, what my role was to be and how the project would move forward. This became the start of a new music project and the start of what some might say my creative wake-up.
Having been the second project I have worked on with Kim, this has given me the confidence in my creativity and the desire to see where I could take my music. If I wasn't for Crash Honey I might not have realized that this is something I do indeed want to pursue.
